Consultation, History and Examination

During your first consultation with Dr. Collins, you will discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options. Dr. Collins generally spends 45-60 minutes with each patient on this visit.

In order to pinpoint the problem, Dr. Collins will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A thorough physical examination will be performed to assess your current health status.

If deemed safe and appropriate, patients will generally undergo some type of treatment on their first visit after the consultation and physical examination are completed. This may include chiropractic adjustments, therapy, nutritional counseling and supplementation, and lifestyle modification.

Laboratory Testing

Dr. Collins may order and collect samples for laboratory testing, including blood chemistries, food sensitivity testing, urinalysis, or other methods. You will receive a thorough explanation of your results, a written report with easily understood charts and graphs, and a clear nutritional and lifestyle action plan.

Radiology

Your specific condition may require us to order x-rays or other imaging to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you.

Home Instructions

Before leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include nutritional advice, ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, and/or home exercises.

Scheduling the Next Appointment

Regular treatment is essential to the process. We work our treatments around your schedule.

For chiropractic care, patients are seen within 1-2 days of their initial visit and are provided with a review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed at this time.

For diagnostic testing, additional time is set aside to go over all laboratory results and the customized treatment plan. We will discuss ALL of your results and why they are important (including the good news), develop a treatment plan to include proper food choices, nutritional supplementation, lifestyle changes, and plan follow-up testing for the areas of greatest concern.
